A London motorcyclist who filmed himself riding at nearly 200mph for social media has been jailed for four years after detectives used his own footage to convict him of 21 dangerous driving offences.

Amin Belechguer, 29, of Poynders Gardens, Clapham, pleaded guilty to all 21 counts and was sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court on 21 October 2026.

Belechguer was arrested when officers spotted him riding a high-powered Kawasaki motorcycle without a number plate along the A20 Ashford Road towards Maidstone.

Belechguer pulled in front of a police car, slowed down, and waved at officers to goad them into a chase.

During the pursuit that followed, he hit speeds exceeding 140mph and overtook on the blind brow of a hill.

Officers called off the chase because of the danger he posed and radioed for backup.

Colleagues further up the road deployed a stinger device, which Belechguer ran over, deflating his tyres and forcing him to stop.

He tried to flee on foot into roadside hedges before officers soon caught up and collared him.

His £20k Kawasaki, along with his phone and GoPro camera, were seized at the scene.

The GoPro uncovered footage dating back to July 2024 showing him riding across Kent, London and Essex at top speeds of 189mph — more than triple the motorway limit.

The footage also captured him pulling wheelies, jumping red lights, competing against cars at meets, and riding up pavements.

The Crown Prosecution Service said he "provoked police to engage him in high speed pursuits in excess of 140mph" and "captured himself dangerous driving on multiple occasions across the south east of England for his social media accounts — often filming on public roads at high speeds."

Alongside the four-year prison term, Belechguer's bike was made subject to a forfeiture order and permanently confiscated.

On release, he faces a 10-year driving ban.

PC Daniel Goodman, the investigating officer, said: "Officers worked swiftly when presented with the opportunity to arrest a dangerous motorist. Despite having to terminate a pursuit due to the dangerousness of Belechguer's driving, teamwork saw his vehicle brought to a stop and secured his arrest."

"Throughout the investigation, Belechguer showed no remorse for the fact he placed his life and the lives of other road users at risk on numerous occasions," Goodman said.
