A 27-year extended sentence has been imposed on a Northampton man following his conviction for a prolonged campaign of sexual abuse against a young girl.
Jack Moore, 36, formerly of Johnswell Way, Moulton, was sentenced at Northampton Crown Court on October 9, 2025.
His extended sentence — a structure reserved for offenders convicted of specific serious offences who are deemed extremely dangerous — consists of 22 years' imprisonment plus a five-year licence extension.
Moore faced 10 charges in total: three counts of sexual activity with a child, two counts of rape of a girl under 13, two counts of assault by touching, one count of attempted rape, one count of assault by penetration, and one count of causing a child to watch sexual imagery.
A jury returned guilty verdicts on all 10 counts on May 11, 2025, following a trial at Northampton Crown Court in early May of that year.
The case began on January 2, 2023, when Moore was reported to Northamptonshire Police after the girl came forward and disclosed the abuse she had suffered at his hands over a two-year period.
Investigators from the Force's Child Abuse Investigation Unit determined that Moore had subjected the girl to repeated rape, made her view pornography, and carried out sexual activity with her.
At sentencing, Moore was additionally placed on the Sex Offenders' Register for life, made subject to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order aimed at stopping him from reoffending upon release, and ordered to pay a £181 victim surcharge.
Lead investigator Detective Constable Nicky Webb said: "Jack Moore targeted this girl for his own selfish, sexual gratification and I am pleased that he now must face the consequences of his predatory behaviour."
"Nothing will ever make the girl forget what Moore did to her, however for someone so young, she should be proud of the incredible bravery she has shown," DC Webb said.
She described the investigation as "lengthy and challenging" and addressed the victim directly: "I hope she knows that because of her resilience and courage, Moore cannot do this to anyone else, and she has helped put a dangerous sexual predator behind bars."
DC Webb also appealed to other victims: "Please know that we will listen to you, believe you and support you every step of the way."
Detective Inspector Julie Allington of the Child Abuse Investigation Unit described it as "a challenging and complex investigation spanning several years, requiring significant persistence, professionalism, and dedication throughout."
She credited DC Nicky Webb and Police Staff Investigator Lucy Fraser-Allen for their "outstanding resilience, commitment and determination" in achieving the best possible outcome for the girl.
