- Jason Lee Webb made the comment while shadowing a rectal procedure, the Nursing and Midwifery Council's Assistant Registrar found
- The County Durham nurse also posted an 'inappropriate comment about a female urinal' in a work WhatsApp group
- Webb admitted the concerns, quit nursing for good, and his agreed removal was granted on 28 September 2026
A nurse in County Durham has been removed from the nursing register at his own request after he was alleged to have told a male patient that it must be nice or pleasurable to have the "g-spot" stimulated.
Jason Lee Webb, a registered adult nurse, applied to leave the Nursing and Midwifery Council's register for good, and an Assistant Registrar of the NMC granted the application.
The second of two allegations against Webb concerned a comment he made to a patient during a clinical procedure.
It was alleged that Webb "made an inappropriate comment to a male patient whilst shadowing a digital rectal stimulation procedure in that he said it must be nice or pleasurable to get the 'g-spot' stimulated or words to that effect," the Assistant Registrar recorded.
The first allegation involved a message exchange among colleagues.
It was alleged that Webb "made an inappropriate comment about a female urinal during a conversation in a work WhatsApp group chat," the Assistant Registrar said.
The NMC received a referral about Webb's fitness to practise on 13 March 2025.
The regulator investigated the issue, and the matter was referred to the Fitness to Practise Committee.
No allegation against Webb has, to date, been substantively proved by any of the NMC's statutory committees.
Webb did not contest the concerns.
"Jason Lee Webb admits the concerns raised and has shown some insight into the concerns," the Assistant Registrar said.
On 29 April 2026, the NMC received an application from Webb for agreed removal from its register.
The application was granted at a virtual hearing held on 28 September 2026.
The Assistant Registrar set out the basis for making the decision.
"As an Assistant Registrar, I have delegated authority to make decisions about agreed removal and have agreed to removal from the NMC register in this case," the Assistant Registrar said.
The decision was made in accordance with Rule 14 of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (Education, Registration and Registration Appeals) Rules 2004.
In considering Webb's application, the Assistant Registrar took into account a range of materials and interests.
The documents comprised the draft charges, the report submitted to the case examiners along with its supporting materials, a letter from the case examiners recording their decision of 27 April 2026, and the application form for agreed removal, which was dated 29 April 2026.
The Assistant Registrar also weighed "the interests of Jason Lee Webb" and "the public interest."
The Assistant Registrar was satisfied of four points before granting the application.
First, that "Jason Lee Webb no longer intends to work as a registered nurse."
Second, that "the allegations against Jason Lee Webb aren't likely to result in a striking-off order."
Third, that "there are no other good reasons requiring us to consider the allegations further at this time."
Fourth, that "the public interest is best served by agreeing the application for removal and enabling Jason Lee Webb to leave the NMC register," the Assistant Registrar said.
The person who made the allegation against Webb was given an opportunity to weigh in before the decision was made.
"We invited the person who made the allegation against Jason Lee Webb to comment on the application for agreed removal," the Assistant Registrar said.
"No comments were received by the time the application was considered."
The effect of the agreed removal is that Webb leaves the register without the allegations against him ever being substantively proved by a statutory committee.
His removal from the register ends his ability to practise as a registered nurse.
Webb was registered on the adult nursing part of the register, under PIN 92C0877E.
His case was heard as an agreed removal application, with the allegation type listed as not applicable, and the outcome recorded as "Application granted."
The relevant location for the allegations was County Durham.
The hearing took place virtually on 28 September 2026, running for a single day.
The timeline from referral to removal spanned roughly 18 months.
The referral about Webb's fitness to practise arrived on 13 March 2025.
The case examiner decision letter was dated 27 April 2026, two days before Webb submitted his agreed removal application on 29 April 2026.
The Assistant Registrar's decision followed five months later, on 28 September 2026.
A record of the decision will be made public for a fixed period.
"We'll publish a record of this decision for twelve months from the date of the decision, 28 September 2026," the Assistant Registrar said.
The underlying allegations are not necessarily closed forever.
The NMC reserved the right to revisit them should Webb ever try to return to nursing.
"In the event that Jason Lee Webb seeks readmission to the register, we may consider the matters that led to this agreed removal further," the Assistant Registrar said.
