£20,000 reward to catch killer who strangled Julie Finley and dumped her naked body in a field 32 years ago
A Crimewatch Live appeal for help identifying Julie Finley's killer, with Detective Inspector Samantha Davies urging those silent 'through fear or a misplaced sense of loyalty' to come forward.
A £20,000 reward is on offer to catch the killer who strangled 23-year-old Julie Finley and dumped her naked body in a field near the A570 Rainford Bypass in August 1994. Detective Inspector Samantha Davies took the cold case to BBC One's Crimewatch Live, calling it 'unfathomable' that the killer remains at large and urging those silent 'through fear or a misplaced sense of loyalty' to speak up.
Witnesses saw a woman matching Julie's description running across Crown Street towards a man never identified.
Investigators have reviewed hundreds of hours of CCTV and interviewed dozens of witnesses, with DNA tools now considered.
'Time can change things,' says Crimestoppers' Pamela Tompsett, promising tips stay anonymous with no court appearance required.
