1. Our approach

The Newshound, operated by Sesha Systems UK Ltd, is a news-aggregation service. For each story we display the headline, a short original summary, and links to the original articles on the publishers’ own websites. We work the way a newsroom does: our editors and systems read what several outlets have published on a story and write our own headline and summary from it, in our own words, then send readers to the original reporting. We do not republish articles, and we do not keep copies of them. We rely on the “reporting current events” and “quotation” exceptions to copyright under the UK Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, with clear attribution to the source outlet.

2. Requesting removal (takedown)

If you are a rights holder (or their authorised agent) and believe content on this site infringes your copyright or has been used without proper attribution, please email contactus@thenewshound.com with “Takedown” in the subject line and include:

• The exact URL(s) on thenewshound.com you are complaining about;
• Identification of the copyrighted work concerned and the original URL;
• Confirmation that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them, and your contact details;
• A statement that you believe the use is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent, or the law.

We aim to review valid requests promptly and, where appropriate, will remove the material, image, summary or link in question.

3. Publishers

If you are a publisher with a concern about how a specific item from your outlet has been treated — an image, a summary or a link — email us at the address above with the URL on thenewshound.com and we will look at it promptly. Linking to publicly available reporting, with attribution, is the basis of the service and of our readers finding your work; we do not operate a general opt-out from being linked to.
