Terms of Use
Last updated: April 2026
By accessing or using NewsHound ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.
1. Description of Service
NewsHound is a news aggregation service that collects headlines from US news publishers, generates AI-written summaries, and provides links to the original articles on their publishers' websites. NewsHound does not reproduce full articles.
2. Third-Party Content and Intellectual Property
The news articles, original headlines, and publisher content linked from NewsHound belong to their respective publishers and are protected by their copyright. NewsHound does not claim ownership of any third-party content.
AI-generated headlines and summaries displayed on NewsHound are transformative works created by automated systems to help readers identify stories of interest. These summaries are not substitutes for the original reporting.
All links on NewsHound direct you to the original publisher's website, where you can read the full article. We encourage you to visit and support the original publishers.
3. Thumbnail Images
NewsHound displays thumbnail images sourced from publishers' Open Graph (OG) meta tags. These images are used as visual link previews -- in the same manner as search engines, social media platforms, and other aggregation services -- to help readers identify linked content. This use constitutes fair use under US copyright law.
4. Accuracy and Completeness
NewsHound aggregates and summarises content from third-party sources using automated systems, including artificial intelligence. While we strive for accuracy, we make no guarantee that:
- Headlines, summaries, or other generated content are free from error
- Coverage is complete or represents all perspectives on a given topic
- Content is current at the time you view it
- AI-generated summaries perfectly reflect the original article's content
NewsHound is not a replacement for visiting original publisher websites and reading primary source reporting. You should not rely solely on NewsHound summaries for important decisions.
5. Access and Availability
Where NewsHound uses password-protected access, this is for access control purposes only and does not create a paid service, subscription, or contractual entitlement to continued access.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. We may also restrict access to some or all features to certain users or geographic regions.
6. Content Modification and Removal
We reserve the right to modify, remove, or restrict any content displayed on NewsHound at any time, for any reason, including but not limited to copyright concerns, accuracy issues, or editorial judgment.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, crawl, or programmatically access NewsHound without written permission
- Reproduce, redistribute, or republish NewsHound's AI-generated content without attribution
- Attempt to circumvent access controls or security measures
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, NewsHound and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from:
- Your use of or inability to use the Service
- Any errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in content
- Any unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
- Any third-party content accessed through links on the Service
10. Third-Party Links
NewsHound contains links to third-party websites operated by news publishers. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of service of those websites. Visiting linked sites is at your own risk.
11. Governing Law
These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in accordance with applicable US law.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Use at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
