2point4 Children actress Georgina Cates has died aged 51, but her death in May is only now being made public

Sitcom creator Andrew Marshall broke the news on X, writing that he had 'just discovered' his 'first Jenny' had died on May 6. He admitted he had 'no other details' and asked anyone who knew more to come forward. No cause of death has been disclosed. Born Claire Elaine Woodgate in Essex, she invented a red-haired Liverpudlian persona to land roles after being rejected under her real name.

She won the part of Jenny Porter at just 16 and starred in the first two series.

She drew acclaim in 1998's 'Clay Pigeons' alongside Vince Vaughn and Joaquin Phoenix.

She was once married to actor Skeet Ulrich.
