Social Security Scotland will begin issuing Pension Age Winter Heating Payments in November, replacing the UK-wide Winter Fuel Payment with a Scottish-specific scheme covering around 879,000 pensioners. Payments are made automatically to those eligible, with no need to apply, deposited into the same account used for State Pension or other benefits.

The payment ranges from £105.55 to £316.70, depending on age and household circumstances during the qualifying week of September 21 to 27.
