A 65-year-old relative of Kenya's first Ebola victim dies after falling ill in quarantine, the country's second death

She developed symptoms ten days ago and died Friday evening at a Nairobi infectious disease unit, despite medical staff's efforts to save her. Kenya has recorded nine confirmed cases in total, with seven patients still in isolation. The country's first victim was a 40-year-old man who died on October 5 after travelling from the Democratic Republic of Congo via Uganda.
Of 135 contacts traced to that man, 118 were quarantined, and eight have since tested positive.
Kenya's health ministry says all cases belong to 'one cluster, with no evidence of community spread.'
Nigeria's single case carries a strain genetically linked to that identified in Kenya's first patient.
