Police are not treating the death as suspicious, and the matter will be referred to the coroner. Officers attended the scene with paramedics following reports of a casualty on the line.

All lines between London Paddington and Heathrow Terminals and Reading were blocked, affecting the Elizabeth line, GWR and Heathrow Express simultaneously.

National Rail warned of major disruption until noon, with services either cancelled or running up to 60 minutes late.

Elizabeth line tickets are valid on the Bakerloo line, London Buses, South Western Railway between Waterloo and Reading, and Chiltern Railways.
