A sperm whale could swallow a person whole as in new film 'Whalefall' — but none ever HAS

The only animal with documented cases of swallowing people whole is the reticulated python. In June 2021 a humpback whale scooped up lobster diver Michael Packard off Cape Cod and spat him out after 30 to 40 seconds. Director Brian Duffield calls his survival thriller 'the opposite of Jaws'. It is based on Daniel Kraus's 2023 novel about a teenager diving off California's Monastery Beach.

Packard never got further than the humpback's mouth.
