A Trump cabinet secretary is torched by critics over a 'disgusting' Halloween message they brand 'racist'

Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins posted a Halloween message on social media that critics branded "disgusting" and "racist," sparking a fierce backlash against the senior Trump cabinet official. The post drew condemnation from across social media, with opponents calling it a deliberate attempt to dehumanise minorities. The row came on the same day ICE posted its own "Thriller"-soundtracked Halloween video mixing horror-movie monsters with footage of detained immigrants.

ICE's minute-long video featured Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees and Pennywise before cutting to agents detaining people in mass holding areas.

Supporters called the ICE video "pretty funny" while critics said it normalised portraying South Americans as monsters.

One commenter wrote they were "all for deporting illegal immigrants" but called the footage "f***ed up" for how it framed detainees.
