A woman will lead pub giant Greene King for the first time in its 227-year history

Clair Preston-Beer, currently Greene King's chief digital and commercial officer, will take the helm of Britain's second-biggest pub chain from the end of February, replacing Nick Mackenzie after nearly eight years in the role.

She has pledged to use AI and data investment so 'every pub is easier to run' and 'every customer experience more personal.'

Mackenzie, who oversaw Greene King's 2019 takeover by Hong Kong conglomerate CK Assets, will stay on the board to manage the transition.
