Accused man warned the husband who drugged his wife to 'remember what happened to the guy in France', jury hears

Nine men are on trial at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court charged with sexually abusing a Stockport woman whose husband drugged her unconscious and covertly filmed the assaults across two decades. Prosecutor Louise Oakley KC told the jury that the husband's Samsung S25 phone "acted like a confessional", holding more than a million photographs and videos that documented the abuse. The nine defendants, ranging in age from 28 to 70, all deny the charges; the husband has already pleaded guilty.
One defendant texted the husband hours after his visit: 'Delete all images... delete me from your phone and life.'
Among the accused are Jonathan Kirk, 43, a senior paramedic, and Robert Stewart, 70, a retired DJ who sent the France warning message.
In a linked but separate Swindon case heard at Winchester Crown Court, Philip Young has pleaded guilty to drugging and raping his wife Joanne over 13 years; he told one defendant she was unprotected and 'the risk is a great thrill.'
