Activists plan a protest against an Oxford Reform UK talk by the academic who accused Jason Arday of plagiarism

Nathan Cofnas is scheduled to appear at Oriel College, Oxford on 17 November at a free event billed as 'An Evening with Nathan Cofnas: Is DEI Undermining Higher Education?' Stand Up to Racism has called a protest in response. The Eventbrite listing describes Cofnas as having 'faced recent controversy after exposing the plagiarism of Jason Arday'. His allegations about Arday's doctoral thesis were set out in a blog post.
Arday resigned from Cambridge in August and was found dead days later, aged 41.
Cofnas was suspended by Ghent University, then reinstated after pressure from US ambassador Bill White.
Cofnas has advocated 'race realism' and has argued that black people are intellectually inferior to other groups.
