AI demand will outrun ASML's chip-tool supply until 2028 as customers beg for more machines every day
ASML, the Dutch company that makes the machines needed to manufacture advanced chips, has warned that soaring artificial intelligence spending means it cannot fully meet customer demand in 2027 or 2028. Chief Executive Christophe Fouquet said the firm is now investigating ways to push capacity beyond the 30% increase it had already planned. Shares rose after ASML nudged up its full-year sales outlook on the back of its third-quarter results.
Fouquet said customers are asking ASML 'every single day to get more tools', underlining how acute the AI-driven shortage has become.
