Trump and Melania spent around an hour handing out candy to trick-or-treaters on the South Lawn on Thursday evening, this time placing sweets in children's bags rather than on their heads as in previous years. Pete Hegseth and Stephen Miller joined the festivities with their families. Melania distributed 'Be Best' postcards and colouring books alongside the usual treats.

Trump was most taken with a child dressed as him — wearing a MAGA hat, a number 47 shirt and red flannel 'MAGA for life' pyjama pants.
