The measure would require voters to show ID at polls and verification on mail ballots. Richard Uihlein has given $17m, with the Winklevoss twins and Nicole Shanahan also backing the push. Governor Gavin Newsom has joined the 'No on 39' campaign as honorary co-chair, with Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings contributing $2.5m to block it.
