Airtel Money, the mobile payment arm of Airtel Africa, has priced its London IPO at £1.96 per share, targeting a valuation of £5.3bn ahead of a planned mid-October debut on the London Stock Exchange. The offering is expected to generate around £529m, with admission currently scheduled for 14 October 2026. Qatar Investment Authority, Mastercard and private equity fund The Rise Fund II Aurora are among the existing shareholders offloading stock in the transaction. The International Finance Corporation has taken a cornerstone position, pledging up to £67.2m.
Airtel Money boasts over 50 million customers across 14 African markets, making it one of the continent's largest mobile payment platforms.
The float would surpass every London IPO since Fermi Inc's dual listing in September 2025, delivering a rare shot in the arm to a market that has found it hard to draw significant new listings.
The expected free float of around 16.5% could make Airtel Money eligible for inclusion in the FTSE 100, parent Airtel Africa has confirmed.
