Almost a third of women with endometriosis quit their jobs as MPs call for the condition to be recognised as a legal disability

Sanju Pal, 43, a award-winning management consultant who was invited to Downing Street, lost her job after an endometriosis diagnosis and surgery — and is now campaigning for the condition to be classed as a legal disability. A new All-Party Parliamentary Group report found 97% of women with endometriosis had worked through extreme pain, while 28% had left work altogether and 39% had faced financial hardship.

Chloe Ward, from Bolton, paid £6,000 for private surgery after NHS waiting times proved too long, and spent £8,000 on IVF.

Women with the condition report being 'treated like skivers', with 40% turning down career opportunities due to a lack of workplace support.
