Amazon pledges 30,000 jobs for Britain's young jobless with £31k pay and no CV or experience needed

Nearly one million young people aged 16 to 24 in Britain are classified as NEET — not in education, employment or training — the highest proportion recorded in a decade. Prime Minister Andy Burnham this week called the situation an 'economic catastrophe and moral failure'. Amazon's Youth Promise targets 18 to 24-year-olds living in areas 'with the least opportunities', offering a starting wage of £15.10 an hour alongside a pension and private medical cover from day one.

The roles cover picking, packing and shipping, distributed across more than 100 Amazon sites throughout the UK.

Amazon is tripling its work experience places, aiming to reach 10,000 by 2030.

The announcement comes shortly after Chancellor John Healey dropped plans for a feared warehouse tax.
