American neurosurgeon is jailed for two years over Glasgow nightclub sex attack on a woman he then labelled a prostitute

Camilo Molina, 40, approached a 20-year-old woman from behind at Kong nightclub on Royal Exchange Square in April 2025 and slid his hand beneath her skirt. He had travelled to Glasgow to attend a spine surgery conference. Sheriff Paul Reid said he could not ignore the 'predatory nature' of the attack. Molina has had his licence to practise revoked and Washington University in St Louis has dismissed him.
Molina must remain on the sex offenders register for 10 years.
The court heard that his wife is still supporting him.
He helped develop an augmented-reality surgical headset that Time named a best invention of 2020.
