Man, 26, is charged with murder and attempted murder after a woman, 26, was stabbed to death in a Manchester street
Lawrence Johnson, 26, of Dorking Avenue, is accused of killing Alisha Samuels on the road where he lives. Neighbours heard 'screaming and shouting' before she was found with knife wounds in Newton Heath at around 2am on October 15. She died at the scene, and a man was also attacked. Johnson is remanded in custody and is due before Manchester Magistrates' Court today.
Detective Chief Inspector Justin Bryant warned: 'Our investigation is not over.'
Friends paid tribute to Alisha as a 'beautiful soul' and 'beautiful inside and out'.
