The Crown Estate is preparing to seek a wealthy private tenant for Royal Lodge, the 30-room Windsor mansion that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is expected to vacate, with annual upkeep costs estimated at £400,000. No member of the Royal Family has expressed any interest in taking over the property. Andrew paid £8 million in 2003 to cover 75 years of rent, but his lease is set to be surrendered following further revelations about his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. He officially retains the lease until the end of October, which will block any renovation work before then.

Andrew is expected to be relocated to Marsh Farm on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.

Those managing the estate's finances are reportedly relieved Andrew has not surrendered his lease early, as the upkeep costs would otherwise become their obligation.

Sarah Ferguson, who shares Royal Lodge with Andrew, is reportedly due to return to Britain within days and is reportedly considering a tell-all documentary.
