Nigel Farage accuses Andy Burnham of 'Brexit betrayal' after Burnham calls for an 'honest discussion' on EU free movement
Andy Burnham said EU migration used to be a 'revolving door' movement of younger people and that 'the balance of migration has changed'. Farage branded the PM 'deluded' and vowed: 'We will fight this dishonesty.' Labour's 2024 manifesto ruled out free movement, single market membership and a customs union. Burnham meets EU chiefs at a Brussels summit on November 20.
Shadow home secretary Chris Philp insisted there could be 'no return' to free movement.
Burnham's options reportedly include joining the single market or rejoining the EU outright.
Burnham has said an in-out EU referendum in Labour's next manifesto is 'possible'.
