Andy Carroll publicly names Kevin Adams as his sexual abuser after BBC Fame Academy star identified in court documents

Former England, Liverpool and Newcastle striker Andy Carroll, 37, has publicly named Kevin Adams as the BBC Fame Academy dance coach who sexually assaulted him while he slept, after Adams's name appeared in publicly available court documents. Carroll revealed the assault in his new autobiography 'Owning It', saying only a handful of loved ones had known before publication. The ordeal had a 'devastating impact on my life and loved ones', Carroll has said, adding he is now ready to move forward.

Kevin Adams, 59, was convicted at Chelmsford Crown Court in 2023 and jailed for 20 months, and was placed on the sex offenders register.

Carroll woke to find Adams attempting to perform oral sex on him, knocked him unconscious, and later gave evidence at trial — which he described as 'humiliating and horrendous'.
