Angela Rayner refuses to rule out a return to EU free movement and says voters will get the final say

Prime Minister Andy Burnham has admitted he is open to bringing back EU free movement ahead of next month's UK-EU summit. Rayner suggested the idea could go into Labour's next manifesto, despite the party ruling it out in 2024. She claimed exports are down 20 per cent since Brexit. Burnham wants an 'honest discussion' on it.

Burnham told Leave-voting Makerfield in June he would not 're-run' the 2016 arguments.

Rayner insisted: 'You can't take anything off the table when you're having a conversation.'

Robert Jenrick raged at the prospect of free movement coming back.
