Angela Rayner tells the Lancaster House antisemitism conference that criticism of Israel must 'never become an excuse' for hatred of Jews

Housing Secretary Angela Rayner told hundreds of political, business, health and education leaders at the Lancaster House conference that antisemitism from the left — using language about Israel and Zionism — is no different from far-right hatred. She argued that the Jewish community should not have to face this fight without broader support, calling for a united national effort. Rayner spoke at the inaugural event hosted by the Antisemitism Policy Trust before leaving to meet Muslim community leaders at Downing Street with Prime Minister Andy Burnham.
Lord Mann, the government's independent antisemitism adviser, said British Jews feel 'more isolated, ostracised and insecure than before'.
The Board of Deputies launched a new Employer's Guide to Jews and Judaism at the conference, with Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds chairing a workplace roundtable.
