Anthropic and Accenture are to invest $2 billion in AI safety testing amid rising concerns over model risks

Anthropic and Accenture have announced a $2 billion joint commitment to AI model evaluation, with the partnership bringing the global consultancy firm into the safety-testing process as alarm grows over unchecked AI risks. Critics have simultaneously accused Anthropic of stacking its oversight network with allies rather than genuine independent watchdogs.

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei has backed safety group METR, which is linked to the Effective Altruism movement that counted Sam Bankman-Fried among its followers.
