Anthropic co-founder Jack Clark says AI could swell the US economy to $44 trillion by 2030

Jack Clark acknowledged that the forecast, which comes from one of Anthropic's internal economic models, 'sounds very outlandish'. US output currently sits at just over $30 trillion. Speaking at the IMF and World Bank annual meetings in Bangkok on Saturday, he warned that rapidly improving AI will drive change through every field at a speed far beyond what has come before. He insisted the technology is already vastly increasing scientific discovery.

Clark called for international cooperation to build 'unusual and serious rules' for AI.
