Anti-Trump 'No Kings' protesters ignore organisers' 'nonpartisan' rule at thousands of US rallies pushing early voting for midterms

'I'm saying vote blue,' declared Nayely Cruz Hernandez, 26, in Alexandria, Virginia, brushing off the coalition's official line. National organisers insisted the October 17 events stay nonpartisan to comply with federal rules governing the nonprofits funding them. Indivisible co-founder Leah Greenberg told an Atlanta rally the Trump administration wants 'chaos, fear, and confusion at the polls'.

About 300 groups with $2.5bn in revenue are reportedly behind the network.

Meta suspended the coalition's Instagram account mid-protest, and spokesman Andy Stone later blamed an automated error.

Ezra Levin claimed Meta might be 'favoring the authoritarians', citing a Brazilian court ruling.
