Apple's £2,000 iPhone Duo sells out within minutes as pre-orders push delivery dates back to JANUARY
Apple's first-ever foldable phone, the iPhone Duo, sold out within half an hour of pre-orders opening today, with delivery dates for new orders now pushed back to late January 2027 — more than three months after the device officially goes on sale on October 23. The Duo starts at $1,999 (£2,000) and goes up to $3,199 for the largest storage option. Apple had warned ahead of launch that supply would be limited, but the speed of the sellout still left buyers furious.
Every colour and storage configuration — from 256GB up to 2TB — is backordered until at least January 22, with dates expected to slip further.
Angry customers vented on X, with one calling it 'the worst iPhone pre-order of all time' and another blasting Apple's 'serious lack of planning'.
Apple shares rose around 1.3% on the strong demand signal, with new CEO John Ternus facing his first major product launch since taking over in September.
