Apple unveils a pricey MacBook Pro, the first touchscreen Mac it has ever made, and brings back the glowing logo
Apple has launched the MacBook Pro with a touchscreen for the first time in the company's history, powered by a new OLED display technology it calls PROLED XDR. The machine is dramatically lighter at three pounds, down from around 3.5 pounds, and adds the iPhone's Dynamic Island pill-shaped cutout in place of the old notch.
The OLED screen, already used in iPhones and iPads, delivers blacker blacks, more vivid colours and better contrast than before.
Apple redesigned MacOS and strengthened the laptop's hinge to support touch input, enabling actions like drawing, scrolling and moving windows by hand.
