Savannah Guthrie appeals publicly for information about her missing mother Nancy Guthrie. A possible third ransom note has surfaced in the case, nearly eight months after the 84-year-old was seized from her Tucson-area…Nancy Guthrie's alleged kidnapper. Two earlier notes released publicly in July included one demanding $4 million in cryptocurrency, a second claiming Nancy had died shortly after being taken.
Arizona authorities have dismissed a newly surfaced ransom note in the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie as not credible, the Pima County Sheriff's Department announced on Tuesday. The mother of Today show host Savannah Guthrie vanished from her home outside Tucson on 1 February, nearly eight months ago.
Two earlier ransom notes, sent to a Tucson TV station in February, demanded $4m in cryptocurrency and then claimed Nancy Guthrie had died shortly after being taken.
The FBI previously released surveillance footage of a masked person apparently tampering with a camera on Nancy Guthrie's front porch before her disappearance.
Investigators have yet to determine how many people were involved in the abduction or whether her abductor was known to her.
