Armed dad Kaylub Giamanco crawled through shot-out window to kill Oregon school gunman targeting special needs class

Kaylub Giamanco, 36, was driving home on his lunch break when he spotted 16-year-old Griffin J John II firing through locked doors to enter Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend on Thursday. A teacher had already hurled her phone at the gunman and wrestled him to the ground before Giamanco crawled through a shot-out window, found the pair struggling, and shot John dead with his licensed .40-caliber pistol. John killed three children — five-year-old Rhoam Summer, an eight-year-old and an 11-year-old — and teacher Meghan Lambert, 25, and had 44 further rounds on him when he was stopped.

John used a shotgun his mother had purchased and fired up to 15 rounds into a special needs classroom before Giamanco ended the attack.

Seven-year-old Saylor Graham, who uses a wheelchair, was shot in the face and remains in serious but stable condition; teacher Becky Drury was critically injured.

Trump called Giamanco a 'great hero' at the White House, saying: 'Thank goodness for a man that had a gun and knew how to use it.'
