Army bomb squad destroys hazardous photography chemicals found at dead man's Buxton home

Hazardous photography chemicals were found during a house clearance on Manchester Road near Buxton after the property's owner died. The Army's Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit was called to the scene and will destroy the substances in a controlled explosion. Three roads remained closed Tuesday morning, among them the A5004 Long Hill between Buxton and Whaley Bridge.

Derbyshire Police said the owner's death was unrelated to the chemicals and was not suspicious.

The A5004, Old Road at its junction with Lesser Lane, and the Elnor Lane access route to Long Hill are all blocked while EOD completes its work.

Roads are set to reopen once the controlled explosion has been carried out and EOD stands down.
