Arsenal cut 60 jobs a week after handing Arteta a £20m-a-season contract to lead Premier League champions

Arsenal chief executive Richard Garlick told staff this week that 60 of the club's 871 permanent employees will lose their jobs across off-field departments, with the cuts driven by a review carried out by management consultants Boston Consulting Group. The redundancies land just days after Arteta signed a new four-year deal worth as much as £20m a season, and despite the club posting record revenues of £691m for 2024-25. Arsenal have now recorded a loss for seven consecutive years, with last season's deficit standing at £1.4m.
Arteta, 44, deflected questions at his pre-Nottingham Forest press conference, saying 'this question is not for me' and refusing to take any further questions on the subject.
talkSPORT host Adrian Durham urged Arsenal to use January to sign Erling Haaland, calling Havertz and Gyokeres insufficiently 'elite level' for title challengers.
