Stanislav Carpiuc, a 28-year-old Ukrainian-born Romanian from Romford, was jailed for two years for coordinating the attacks and handling the cash. His friend Roman Lavrynovych, 22, who lit the fires, got seven years. A Telegram handler called El Money offered £3,000 in cryptocurrency if the blazes were filmed and made the news. Carpiuc is now banned from re-entering the UK.

Sir Keir's sister-in-law Judith Alexander was left struggling to breathe, and her nine-year-old was terrified.

An investigation alleged Russian diplomat Evgeny Lyukshin masterminded the plot.

Home Office warning to would-be recruits: 'You will be caught and face severe consequences.'
