Attorney General Todd Blanche insists Alaska lawsuit will not block certification as Murkowski says DOJ 'should never have filed'
President Donald Trump has said 'I'm the one that said do it' about the Justice Department suit, filed Thursday over retired teacher Daniel J. Sullivan Jr sharing a name with Senator Dan Sullivan. Common Cause, represented by ACLU attorneys, has now moved to intervene. Blanche says the case only preserves ballots and that the department did not coordinate with any campaign.
The suit seeks to halt certification if Senator Sullivan narrowly loses to Mary Peltola.
Peltola called the case 'a very desperate attempt to cling to power'.
Trump called the dueling Sullivans 'cheating like hell' at a Florida rally.
