'Australia's worst paedophile' is seen for the first time in four years as he is extradited over 202 MORE charges
Ashley Paul Griffith, 48, an Australian childcare worker already serving life in Queensland for more than 300 sexual offences against nearly 70 victims, has been extradited to New South Wales to face 202 further charges. The new charges — which include sexual intercourse with a child under 10 and producing child abuse material — relate to 23 girls, the youngest aged 10, who attended a Sydney childcare centre where he worked between 2014 and 2017. He was transferred at 8am on Wednesday and received by NSW authorities at Tweed Heads.
Queensland Corrections Minister Laura Gerber called Griffith "a monster," adding: "What Griffith did to children was abhorrent."
Griffith will remain in NSW custody until his new trial concludes, after which he will serve the rest of his sentence in the state that imposes the longer term.
When his transfer was approved last month, a victim's supporter screamed in court: "Rot! Fire! Brimstone! Burn! Get f***ed Ashley!"
