Former Port Adelaide AFL star Daniel Stewart dies suddenly aged 37 after an 'unexpected medical episode', his gym tells members

His wife Laura shared a family photo with their sons Bernie and Lando, writing: 'Devastated to confirm the loss of our world.' Stewart, who died on Friday, played 36 games and kicked 31 goals for Port Adelaide between 2010 and 2013. He later built the Body Fit Training gym chain across Melbourne with ex-teammate Matt Thomas. The club will wear black armbands at its first 2027 home game.

Former teammate Kane Cornes hailed him as 'a brilliant and caring teammate'.

Gym members were asked not to seek further details, out of respect for his family.

Laura called him 'a heart too big for this world'.
