Former Port Adelaide AFL forward Daniel Stewart dies suddenly aged 37 after an unexpected medical episode, his gym tells members
Laura Stewart, his wife, posted a family photo with their two sons and wrote: 'Devastated to confirm the loss of our world.' Stewart died on Friday. After football he co-founded Body Fit Training gyms across Melbourne with former teammate Matt Thomas. Members were emailed on Saturday morning and asked not to press for further details out of respect for the family.
Stewart played 36 games and kicked 31 goals for the Power between 2010 and 2013.
Port Adelaide will wear black armbands at their first Adelaide Oval home game in 2027.
Ex-teammate Kane Cornes hailed 'a brilliant and caring teammate', calling it 'a true tragedy'.
