Australian police investigate Married at First Sight after a groom alleges producers shared his private information
Officers from South Sydney Police Area Command opened the inquiry on 24 August 2026 after a report of 'inappropriate content being shared'. New South Wales Police say the case will be passed to the Western Australia Police Force. Endemol Shine Australia, which produces the show, and broadcaster Channel Nine have both been contacted for comment. The Australian version is made by a different company from the one behind the UK edition.
A BBC Panorama documentary in May brought rape allegations from two MAFS UK brides, which the men named deny.
A UK cast member was arrested in June on suspicion of rape and released on bail.
Channel 4's MAFS UK is also the subject of an Ofcom investigation into an unspecified complaint.
