Baby is cut by bricks after a masked gang traps a bus near Alder Hey as boy, 15, is bailed

A gang of balaclava-wearing males dragged a large piece of timber onto East Prescot Road in West Derby, bringing the bus to a stop before hurling bricks at its windows. The nine-month-old boy suffered facial and head lacerations and was taken to Alder Hey Children's Hospital as a precaution. Officers spoke to five other male suspects, who were then dispersed or escorted home.

The gang, dressed all in black, deliberately ambushed the bus at around 10.10pm on Friday 30 October.

The 15-year-old was released on conditional bail while inquiries into assault and criminal damage continue.

Police are urging anyone with information to contact the Merseyside force via X, Facebook or by calling 101.
