Bankrupt Lawrence Dallaglio is to sell his 2003 England World Cup winner's medal for UP TO £80,000

Lawrence Dallaglio, who was made bankrupt last year after accumulating debts of hundreds of thousands of pounds owed to HMRC and other creditors, has entered his 2003 Rugby World Cup winner's medal in an auction with an estimate of £50,000–£80,000. The 54-year-old's full collection of 22 lots — among them caps, club medals and individual awards — has a combined potential value of up to £180,000 at the October 13 sale in Northamptonshire.

Dallaglio was declared bankrupt following his divorce from wife Alice, which left him facing debts that included overdrawn director's loans alone exceeding £423,570, plus more than £350,000 owed to HMRC.

'As a result of getting divorced, I was made bankrupt — I could have done things a lot better,' Dallaglio admitted on the High Performance podcast.

Dallaglio wore the No. 8 shirt and was on the pitch for every minute of England's 20-17 extra-time victory over Australia in Sydney, sealed by Jonny Wilkinson's iconic drop goal.
