The annual Children in Need Big Build is also being scrapped as part of the BBC's drive to save £500m over three years. In place of new builds, viewers will get a cheaper spin-off, 'DIY SOS Rebuilt My Life', revisiting past families. The move has reportedly been branded 'a disgusting outrage', with the corporation accused of being 'too spineless' to admit the show is axed. Blankety Blank and Live At The Apollo have already been cut.

Staff were told the show was paused but got no answer on a 2028 return.

The decision has reportedly been called an affront to tradespeople who give their time free.

The team once built a £1million children's cancer unit in just 12 days.
