BBC Three is to be taken off TV for a SECOND time in a desperate bid to save £500m
Director-General Tim Davie said the news would be 'hard for audiences' and warned of 'tough choices'. The youth channel behind Fleabag and Gavin & Stacey will go online-only in spring 2027, just five years after it was revived in 2022. The BBC Scotland channel and Radio 4 Extra are being closed too. A further 100 jobs will go at BBC News.
BBC Three content will now live on iPlayer and YouTube.
Scotland's Culture Secretary Mairi McAllan called the move 'wholly unacceptable' and will go to Ofcom.
The BBC has reportedly cut only about £200m so far, with more cuts expected.
