Beatles museum 'to rival Graceland and Dollywood' will open in Liverpool in 2028, with Sir Paul McCartney hailing 'extraordinary' plans

Apple Corps, the company the Fab Four founded in 1968, will take over The Beatles Story in 2027 and move it from Albert Dock to the empty St John's Market site. The new 100,000 sq ft home opposite Lime Street station is four times bigger. Sets from Sam Mendes's four Beatles films will recreate the Cavern, Abbey Road and Shea Stadium.

St Johns Beacon, the 450ft former Radio City tower, will become a 'Yellow Submarine' viewing attraction.

Ringo Starr said: 'Liverpool was, and still is, music city. The beat goes on.'

Proceeds from every ticket will fund a new trust backing emerging Liverpool artists.
