Bereaved families demand 'Call of Duty' maker remove REAL footage of deadly Seoul crowd crush from new video game

Activision, the maker of 'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4', used real news broadcast footage from the 2022 Itaewon Halloween crowd crush to depict civilian casualties in a fictional North Korean invasion scenario. Bereaved families and civic groups issued a joint statement on Wednesday condemning the move and demanding the clips be removed, on the fourth anniversary of the disaster this weekend. Around 100,000 people had gathered in the narrow Itaewon street for Seoul's Halloween Festival when the crush struck shortly after 10pm, killing 158 people.
The seconds-long clips appear at the game's opening and show a paramedic performing CPR, bodies laid out on the road, and a victim carried away on a stretcher.
Families warned that survivors and bystanders who helped with rescues are still living with trauma, while hateful comments about the victims continue to spread online.
