Bernie Sanders pours $1 million into Michigan Senate race to counter AIPAC's last-minute $9m push for Mike Rogers

The cash follows a bitter online feud between Sanders and the pro-Israel lobby on Thursday. Sanders claimed 'AIPAC is why we're at war in Iran' and urged voters to back Democratic nominee Abdul El-Sayed, who opposes US aid to Israel. AIPAC mocked him in reply: 'AIPAC is why your fantasy football team stinks.' Americans vote in the midterms on November 3.

AIPAC accused Sanders of 'obsessive scapegoating' of America's ally.

Only on Wednesday, AIPAC said it would stop endorsing candidates and making direct PAC donations.

AIPAC spokesperson Deryn Sousa said members gave more than $90 million directly to candidates this cycle.
